Robert Hauk teaches a beginning class from 7:00 - 8:00pm, with dancing following until Midnight. The price is $6.Robert DJ's traditional, classic tango music when he's in town, and has a variety of Portland DJ's sub for him when he's gone.
PPAA management requests that you don't bring in your own beverages. Bottled water is available, as well as a full bar for those over 21.

Norse Hall, host to Portland's world famous Tango Festivals, is a vibrant cultural landmark and Scandinavian community center. It is located just east of the Burnside Bridge and is one of Portland's most versatile event sites as well as an important part of the city's architectural and cultural legacy.
The lesson starts at 7:30 PM, and the practica goes from 8:30 until midnight. All-ages welcome and cost is $6.

There is no Beginner Lesson. However if you want a beginner lesson before the milonga, Jay Rabe teaches an on-going drop-in beginner lesson starting at 7:00 that is only 10 blocks from the Paradise.

Alex Krebs hosts one of the most popular milongas in Portland. When he's in town he teaches a beginning tango lesson from 8:00 - 9:00pm, then dancing until 2:00am on 1300 sq ft of hemlock dance floor. With four adjacent rooms to lounge and socialize, the Berretin reflects Alex's fondness of El Corte in Nijmegen, The Netherlands.

Ellen Saunders and David Whitman host this Milonga with the help of Carleen St. Thomas and Greg Berkholtz. Ellen and her friend and TangoFest co-registrar Bob Williams teach a beginning/intermediate class at 8:00 PM. The class is included in the price of the milonga.J.Abling is the resident DJ, playing traditional tango music from 9:00 PM till 12:30 AM.
Ellen and David provide lots of yummy nibbles and beverages. The lounge area is great for quiet conversation, and the dance studio is elegantly decorated with tables and lots of chairs. The cabeceo is easily practiced with this arrangement and the comfortable lighting at Milonga Firulete.

Bill Alsup (usually) and Megan Pingree (occasionally) host an informal basic techniques class at 1:00pm, then the practica continues until 5:30 or 6:00.
Bill and Megan do a wonderful job of creating a comfortable and informal space for dancers of all levels, including newcomers who may find dancing at more formal milongas intimidating. Your skill levels or "how you look" don't matter.
Music is pumped into two adjacent studios, and you are free to go back and forth between them to find that "just right" place to practice. All levels and ages are welcome at this non-threatening environment.
Admission is $5, which includes the lesson, light snacks, and beverages. [Cost is higher when the class is taught by visiting tango masters]

Join us on Sundays for a fun and relaxing milonga at the gazebo in Peninsula Park in north Portland. The Peninsula Park milonga will happen every Sunday during the summer, except for the days when there is a Moonlight Milonga. All skill levels are welcome at this relaxed and informal venue surrounded by roses in bloom. Come early and have a picnic on the grass.
